Getting the App
Your Bookroom is distributed through the Apple App Store. Search for Your Bookroom by Lutarea on your iPhone or iPad, or open the store link from TestFlight if you are in a beta program.
The App requires iOS 18.0 or later and runs on iPhone and iPad. The optional Reading Now widget uses the App Group group.com.lutarea.yourbooks to read a local snapshot prepared by the main App.
Common topics
- Your data stays on the device — library metadata, reviews, highlights, and statistics are stored locally with SwiftData. We do not sync your live database to Lutarea servers or CloudKit. Book files live in the App sandbox. To move data to another device, use Settings → Backup & reviews → Export JSON and import on the other device.
- Import formats — EPUB, PDF, and TXT open directly; MOBI, AZW, AZW3, FB2, CBZ, CBR, DJVU, DOCX, RTF, and HTML are converted on import where supported. Amazon DRM (KFX) is not supported. You can also add books from direct download URLs (for example Project Gutenberg pages).
- Library — search, sort, filters by tag or collection, reading statuses (want to read / reading / finished), series, bulk edit, and swipe to delete (removes the book file from sandbox).
- Reader — EPUB and PDF via Readium; TXT natively. Highlights and notes in all three; table of contents for EPUB; themes, fonts, spacing, page or scroll modes; PDF zoom and fit; optional orientation lock; text-to-speech, auto-scroll, dictionary, and translation on supported formats.
- Ratings and reviews — star rating and text review on each book; share review or highlight quote cards via the system share sheet.
- Backup — export and import JSON in Settings. When iCloud is available, exports are saved to iCloud Drive → Lutarea BACKUPS → Your Bookroom Backups (shared Lutarea container). Import supports merge or replace. If iCloud is unavailable, a local fallback path may be used as shown in Settings.
- Statistics and achievements — reading time, streaks, goals, charts, and optional achievement toasts; see Statistics in Settings.
- App lock — optional passcode and Face ID / Touch ID under Settings → Privacy & Security.
- Widget — add the Reading Now widget from the Home Screen gallery. Tapping opens the reader for the current book (
yourbooks://read/…). Refresh the snapshot by opening the App or reading. - Language — the App supports multiple interface languages via iOS language settings and in-app localization (including English, Russian, and Ukrainian).
- Free tier — the App includes a free tier with a library size limit (for example 25 books). Reading, backup export, app lock, and the Reading Now widget remain core features. Pro (in-app purchase, planned) may raise limits and add sync features in a future version.
- After an app update — your library stays on the device; updates do not intentionally erase it. If data looks missing, try Import from Lutarea BACKUPS or a saved JSON file, or contact support with your App and iOS version. Export backups regularly, especially before major updates.
Reporting a problem
When you email support, please include your iOS version, App version (from the App Store or TestFlight), and steps to reproduce the issue. Screenshots or a short screen recording help. For import or reader issues, mention the file format and whether conversion was involved.
