Getting the App
Your Lists is distributed through the Apple App Store. Search for Your Lists by Lutarea on your iPhone or iPad, or open the store link from TestFlight if you are in a beta program.
The App requires iOS 17.0 or later and runs on iPhone and iPad. Optional Share Extension, Home Screen widgets, and Shortcuts use the App Group group.com.lutarea.yourlists to exchange a local snapshot and pending actions between the main App and its extensions.
Common topics
- Offline-first — categories, lists, items, genres, and wishlists are stored on your device with SwiftData. There is no Lutarea account and no CloudKit sync of the live database. To move data to another device, export
.ylistfiles from Settings or a list menu and import them on the other device. - Home layouts — switch between tile (Steam-style covers), row, and grid on the main screen. Sort lists by date or alphabetically.
- Items — status (backlog, in progress, done, and more), rating, notes, links, attachments, cover photos, and genre tags. Optional grouping by genre in list views.
- Wishlists — a dedicated category for gift ideas per person: price, links, purchased status, and export as
.ylist. - Import and export — Settings → import all categories or export everything; list detail menu → export one list. Import can skip duplicates or merge when UUIDs collide.
- iCloud backup (optional) — Settings → back up to iCloud Drive when you enable it. Backups are saved as
.ylistfiles in Files → Lutarea BACKUPS → Your Lists Backups (containeriCloud.com.lutarea.backups). Restore imports the latest backup into the App. Requires iCloud; Lutarea does not receive the backup contents. Older backups in a previous per-app iCloud container are not moved automatically. - Trash and undo — deleted items go to Trash (Settings → Trash) with an undo toast; items can be restored or purged after a retention period.
- Spotlight — item titles are indexed on-device; open the App from system search results.
- Bulk actions — multi-select in list and wishlist views to change status, move, or delete several items at once.
- Share list — export a list as plain text or a shareable image from the list menu.
- iPad — on iPad, Home uses a sidebar for categories and a detail column; global search in the sidebar finds items across lists.
- Share Extension — from Safari or other apps, use Share → Add to Your Lists, pick a list, and confirm. Open the main App to finish import; a toast confirms success.
- Widgets — Favorite lists (medium), In progress (medium, with optional mark-done control), and Quick add (small). Pin lists via the list editor or list menu. Tap a widget row to open the App (
yourlists://deep links). - Shortcuts — add a link from the clipboard, add an item, or open a list via Siri and the Shortcuts app.
- Statistics — Settings → Statistics shows counts by status, wishlist progress, completion trends (charts), and items not updated in 30+ days.
- Wishlist reminders — optional event date on a person list and reminder date on a gift item; local notifications when enabled in iOS.
- Privacy in app switcher — when the App is in the background, a branded overlay may hide list content in the system app switcher snapshot.
- App lock — optional 6-digit passcode and Face ID / Touch ID under Settings → App passcode. Off by default; locks when you leave the App. Passcode hash stays in the device Keychain.
- Language — nine interface languages in Settings, or follow the system language.
- First launch — a short onboarding tour appears on a fresh install. Updating from a previous version skips it automatically.
- Reset — delete lists and items in the App, or uninstall to remove local storage. Exported
.ylistfiles remain files you manage yourself.
Reporting a problem
When you email support, please include your iOS version, App version (from the App Store or TestFlight), and steps to reproduce the issue. Screenshots or a short screen recording help. For import/export or iCloud restore issues, note whether you used skip or merge mode and the schema version if known.
