These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the mobile application Your Cookbook (the "App"), developed and operated by Lutarea ("we", "us", or "our"). The App is distributed for Apple platforms (iPhone, iPad, and optional Apple Watch companion) and is listed on the Apple App Store under the name Your Cookbook.
By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
1. The App and eligibility
Your Cookbook is a personal recipe and cooking assistant. Features include a recipe book with favorites and a Cook Today queue, step-by-step cooking with timers and sessions, photos on steps and covers, collections and menu planning, a shopping list, optional iCloud sync through CloudKit, JSON/ZIP export and import (with optional save to iCloud Drive Lutarea BACKUPS), a Cook Today home screen widget and Live Activity, an optional Share Extension for URL import, an optional Apple Watch companion, Siri Shortcuts, optional passcode and biometric lock, and deep links via yourrecipes://. You must be able to form a binding contract in your jurisdiction and meet any minimum age required by Apple and applicable law.
2. Apple App Store
If you obtain the App through the Apple App Store, your use is also subject to Apple's applicable terms and rules, including the Apple Media Services Terms and the App Store Guidelines. Apple is not responsible for the App or its content, maintenance, or support, except as required by Apple's policies.
3. License
Subject to these Terms, we grant you a personal, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable license to install and use the App on Apple devices you own or control, in accordance with the usage rules of the store from which you obtained the App.
- You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, lease, or reverse engineer the App except where mandatory law allows.
- You may not use the App in any way that violates applicable law or infringes third-party rights.
4. Your content and conduct
You are responsible for the recipes, photos, and other content you create or import in the App. You represent that you have the rights necessary to store and use that content on your devices. Recipe data is stored locally; optional CloudKit sync and exported backups may copy data to your iCloud account or files you choose.
Optional features may use Apple frameworks you approve (for example biometric authentication for app lock, camera and photo library for step photos, or WidgetKit for the Cook Today widget). If you add the widget or Live Activity, a limited summary of your cook queue may appear on your home screen or Lock Screen as described in our Privacy Policy.
5. Sharing, import, and export
The App may let you export JSON/ZIP backups, share recipe PDFs or text, and import backups or URLs you choose. You are responsible for what you share, with whom, and for reviewing imported content before relying on it. Recipients of exported files can read the data you include in those files.
Third-party websites you open via saved links or URL import have their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party services or for the accuracy of content on external sites you choose to import.
6. Free tier and Pro (future)
The App is currently distributed as a free product without in-app purchases. We may introduce a paid Pro upgrade with usage limits on the free tier in a future version. If offered, purchases will be billed by Apple and subject to Apple's payment terms. Existing data above any future limit may remain readable and editable; creating new items beyond the limit may be restricted.
7. Changes to the App and Terms
We may update the App or these Terms from time to time. Material changes to the Terms will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date on this page. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms where permitted by law.
8. Disclaimer
The App is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of loss of data. Cooking instructions, timers, and nutritional information you enter are your responsibility; the App does not provide professional dietary or food safety advice.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Lutarea and its contributors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, goodwill, or business opportunities, arising out of or in connection with your use of the App. Our aggregate liability for any claim arising from the App will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us for the App in the twelve months before the claim or (b) zero if the App is free.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those cases, our liability is limited to the fullest extent permitted.
10. Termination
You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it. We may cease providing the App or disable access where required by law or if you materially breach these Terms.
11. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by applicable law without regard to conflict-of-law principles, subject to any non-waivable rights you have under consumer protection rules in your country of residence. Courts or authorities with jurisdiction over disputes may vary by region.
