Getting the App
Your Tasks is distributed through the Apple App Store. Search for Your Tasks by Lutarea on your iPhone or iPad, or open the store link from TestFlight if you are in a beta program.
The App requires iOS 18.0 or later and runs on iPhone and iPad. The optional Today widget uses the App Group group.com.lutarea.yourtasks to read a local snapshot prepared by the main App.
Common topics
- Your data stays on the device — tasks, projects, notes, and habits are stored locally with SwiftData. We do not sync your live database to Lutarea servers or CloudKit. To move data to another device, use Settings → Data → Export JSON and import the file on the other device.
- Today — plan day tasks, track progress in the header, and complete daily habits (min / target / stretch goals). Unfinished day tasks roll forward when you open the App on a later day.
- Current — kanban columns for active tasks and projects with branches. You can move a single project task to Today or a column when you want to focus on it.
- Someday — boards for ideas and projects that are not active right now.
- Inbox — quick capture, then process into a task, project, daily habit, note, or calendar event (Calendar access is requested only when you choose that action).
- Backup — export and import JSON in Settings → Data. Export can optionally include day history; import can replace all data or merge, depending on the mode you choose. When iCloud is available, exports are saved automatically to iCloud Drive → Lutarea BACKUPS → Your Tasks Backups (a shared Lutarea container; the same folder name may appear for other Lutarea apps). You can pick a different folder under Backup location, use Import from Lutarea BACKUPS to restore a saved file, or choose any JSON file via Import (JSON). If iCloud is unavailable and no custom folder is set, export and import use the system Files picker — the App does not create a backup folder under On My iPhone → Your Tasks.
- App lock — optional passcode and Face ID / Touch ID under Settings → Privacy & Security. Optional privacy blur in the app switcher is available in the same section.
- Widget — add the Today widget from the Home Screen gallery. Tapping the widget opens the Today tab (
yourlifetasks://today). Refresh the snapshot by opening the App or completing tasks on Today. - Language — the App supports multiple interface languages via iOS language settings and in-app localization.
- Import from other apps — Settings → Data → Import from other apps (for example Trello). Data is converted on your device.
- Free and Pro — the App includes a free tier with usage limits (for example on kanban columns, Someday boards, note lists, daily templates, custom labels, active projects, and some Inbox processing options). Core capture and Today stay fully usable. Pro (in-app purchase, coming soon) is planned to raise or remove these limits and unlock advanced features. During TestFlight we may temporarily lift limits for testing.
- After an app update — your task database stays on the device; updates do not intentionally erase it. If data looks missing, open Settings → Data → Import from Lutarea BACKUPS for saved JSON files, or contact support with your App and iOS version. We recommend exporting JSON backups regularly, especially before major updates.
- Reset — to erase all App data on the device, use Settings → Data → Reset app. Uninstalling the App also removes local storage.
Reporting a problem
When you email support, please include your iOS version, App version (from the App Store or TestFlight), and steps to reproduce the issue. Screenshots or a short screen recording help. If the problem involves import/export, describe whether you used replace or merge mode and, if possible, whether the backup was created on the same App version.
We do not provide professional productivity, medical, or legal advice. Calendar events you create while processing Inbox are stored in your Apple Calendar according to your permissions.
